Public Notice
Mosquito Control

Mosquito sampling begins the week of May 15, 2006 in the Town of Madbuiy. Crews will be checking swamps, woodland pools, ditches, storm drains and other shallow, stagnant water for mosquito larvae. When mosquitoes are found, treatment may occur using backpacks dispersing the following insecticides: VectoBac (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis), Altosid (methoprene) and Agnique MMF (poly-isooctadecyl-hydroxyl).

If Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) or West Nile Virus (WNV) is found in Town, emergency adulticiding, using sumithrin or permethrin may be done at the schools, parks, Town Hall and the Library. It is not possible to predict if this will be necessary. The treatment schedule is based upon mosquito surveillance data and weather conditions. Further notification will be given if this is going to occur.

Residents who do not want their property treated must contact Dragon Mosquito Control in writing at P.O. Box 46, Stratham, NH 03885. Otherwise, control measures may be done on your property if needed. Residents may call 964-8400 for more information on spray dates, location, materials used, precautions or other concerns including EEE and WNV. Sarah MacGregor, President, Dragon Mosquito Control, Inc.
