Currently the weekly rate for curbside rubbish collection is $3.75.
All rubbish should be outside by 8 am on:

    Thursday, east of and including Rt. 155
    Friday, west of Rt. 155.

No loose rubbish is allowed. All must be bagged. Voluntary recycling pickup, must be packed separately.

The Transfer station is open April through November. See Calendar for dates and times. 

The Dover Recycling Center at 265 Mast Rd. is open to Madbury Residents.

Due to budget cuts the City of Dover Recycling Center will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only from 8:30am-3:30pm.

MADBURY TRANSFER STATION REGULATIONS
May 2005

This is to inform the residents of the Madbury Solid Waste Ordinance adopted on March 10, 1981 as it relates to the use of the Madbury Transfer Station.

PERMITS are issued to residents by the Town Clerk and are renewed every two years or when determined necessary by the Board of Selectmen. A fee of $1.00 will be assessed for each permit. If your permit is not current, one should be purchased as soon as possible during regular Town Office hours. Permits should be affixed to the windshield of any vehicles entering the transfer station facility.

HOURS established by the Board of Selectmen are the first and third Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and the second Wednesday of each month from 4:00 PM to dusk. Months of operation are May through November. Illegal entry is prohibited and violators may be subject to a fine.

MATERIALS delivered to the landfill must be separated into the following categories and deposited in the designated areas as directed by the Attendant.

    a) furniture
    b) yard waste (leaves, clippings, and twigs)
    c) yard waste (limbs under 4 inches and brush)
    d) yard waste (limbs 4 inches and over)
    e) stumps (limited number - small and portable)
    f) metals
    g) other non-putrescible household items

Transport of Items to be disposed of Is limited to a vehicle trunk, pickup truck or small trailer. PROHIBITED WASTE includes waste not accepted at the Lamprey Regional Cooperative and the following:

    a). Human and animal wastes such as dead animals, feces, septic waste or sludge.
    b) Toxic or hazardous waste such as those containing lead, cadmium, or other herbicides, etc. and those so identified In the Federal Register 40 CFR 261, May 19, 1980.
    c)Asphalt shingles
    d)Any waste may be excluded by the Selectmen to maintain the safety of the Transfer Station.

FEE SCHEDULE : As of May 1, 2005 the following items will not be accepted and should be disposed of at the Dover Recycling Center on Mast Road In Dover.

    a) Tires No  Charge
    b) Freon Items  $10.00
    c) Computer Monitors  $10.00
    d) Scanners/Printers/Copiers & Laptops  $5.00
    e) Construction Debris Under 60 LBS  $5.00
                      Over 60 LBS  .05 cents per lb.

NON-CONFORMANCE with the terms of the Ordinance may be reported to the Selectmen and persons found to be in violation may be subject to a fine not exceeding $100.00 per violation and/or revocation of the Transfer Station permit.

THE ATTENDANT is present to carry out the Ordinances and maintain order. Your cooperation with his directions will help to create a smooth, safe, and efficient operation.

The above regulations are intended to give you the information needed to help us operate a safe and approved transfer station facility. Continued state approval of our operation is needed and your cooperation is appreciated.
